First Principle Design Ltd has been set up by Simon Keys to deliver tailored design solutions across a number of industries. Simon’s own background is in the mainstream automotive industry, having worked for many of the world’s best known vehicle manufacturers during a career at a leading UK automotive engineering and development consultancy. His experience is diverse, spanning many disciplines within the industry, from vehicle safety engineering, vehicle packaging and styling, through to installation of electric powertrains into existing vehicles.
During 2003 Simon returned to his native island of Guernsey with aim of setting up an independent design capability aimed at a range of niche markets, encompassing:
- Automotive
- Marine
- Product
- Interiors
Whether it is a simple styling concept that is required, or a “turn key” project, First Principle Design and it’s associated team are able to meet the demand. The philosophy of the company is to use appropriate solutions and tools to meet specific objectives, so whilst all the latest mainstream design tools such as 3D digitisation, Rhino and CATIA CAD software and CNC milled tooling are available, so is the sketch pad, the clay modelling skills and the hand laid up tools. We examine from First Principles and deliver the best and most appropriate solutions.
